In conjunction with the 14^th February 2010, we will be compiling entries of custom-designed Pichin’s. These custom-designs will be done by YOU!

Or if you feel like drawing your own version of Pichin, feel free to do so!

You’re also welcome to add in your very own message or festive greeting : take this chance to shout out to your loved ones – may it be a Gong Xi Fa Chai or a simple I love you ;D

We will be posting up selected entries on the blog, in a huge compilation. Send your entries to events@kurechii.com and include the name that you would like to be credited in your email.

The deadline for submissions is: 14th March 2010, so send your entries in before Monday!

kurechii top resolution for 2010 is to stuff your pocket full with fun!

So keep your pockets empty and prepare for some awesome!

To follow up, we’re introducing to you two other characters you will come across in the game. Who are they, well – read on to find out!

The Man Who Made It Happen
Like how the chicken came from the egg (or the other way around, whichever you prefer) – Pichin was created as a result of an ambitious man.

His name? Well, there are no lab records or documents mentioning his name. Thus – he is only known as Professor. The Professor.

For years, he had been working on a Top Secret experiment – to infuse the power of flight (or in a more humble sense, levitation) to objects and creatures. Of course it would eventually lead to humans being able to fly just like birds could – but in the early stages of his experiment he was testing it out on his own creature-creations.

Pichin was born as a result of that.

However, Professor was NOT at all pleased when he found out that Pichin was not able to even jump – much less make a decent flight.

Out of disappointment and anger, he abandoned Pichin – already planning on making a better specimen.

Was he a heartless old man? Or just a hell-bent scientist who wants what he wants?

Whatever it is, without him – there would have been no Pichin.

And there would have been no big adventure through the sky for the little creature!

The Girl Who Was Always There
It isn’t easy for a child to grow up without someone to take care of him. Neither would it be easy for a specimen like Pichin.

Fortunately for Pichin, the Lab Assistant was a much kinder-soul compared to her senior. Feeling sad for Pichin after her Professor abandoned it, she stayed back – wondering if there was anything she could do to help it. After all, which kind-hearted soul can leave a cute creature crying all alone in a laboratory?

By staying behind, she witnessed Pichin’s first steps to being able to fly. With hopes and lots of knowledge, she set her heart to helping Pichin reach the ends of the skies – and beyond.

In the game, she will be constantly be by your side – guiding you through the game and giving you useful hints on how to conquer the skies!

to those who have heard of Reachin’Pichin – who gave support and encouragement to its development – but never got to see what Reachin’Pichin is all about.

If you have never heard of Reachin’Pichin – well, this post is for you too! Do take some time out and read through the details of a fun-packed game in the making!

Reachin’Pichin; in a nutshell
The game revolves around Pichin.

Pichin is:
1. A failed levitation experiment
2. Wants to prove its worth

So?

Pichin flies! – or at least, tries very hard to.

You play as Pichin, making attempts to fly at the early stages of the game.
When you master the skill of flight, you move on to mastering the skills of maneuvering through the skies – picking up powerups and avoiding disasater!

Just flying?

Yup, that is all there is to the game! Of course, “flying” in Reachin’Pichin is given maximum focus and therefore you will be having very pleasant flights – our captain guarantees so.

Let’s take a look at the two main things you do while flying:

1. GRAB EM’ POWERUPS!
Pichin starts off his flying lessons with a jump. Before he levels up, powerups prove as a GREAT assistance. These spiffy items boost you higher, keeping you longer in the air while increasing your score.

Another kind of powerups are the Evolution Ores. There are three kinds: Bestial, Botanic and Metallic. Pichin’s evolution highly depends on which kind of ores it collects most. But we shall leave the details for another day.

The last kind of collectables in the air – are special items.

They aren’t just there for you to pick up.

You’ll have to earn them, by shaking them out of the clouds!

2. LOOK OUT FOR EM’!
Obstacles come in many forms and sizes.

You have your obvious blockades, which you simple move out of the way to avoid.

Then you have some sneaky creatures – from monkeys to aliens, trapping you in flight.
There are different ways to escape their clutches if you are caught, you’ll find out about that in the game.

It’s not at all a bad thing when you are caught in these traps – as some of them will get you sparkling achievements!

Reachin’Pichin; unexpected
With the basics of the game laid out above – there is only one more thing I’d like to add to sum the game up: Expect the Unexpected.

As overused and as cheesy as that might sound – that is what spices up the entire game.
Your flight experience is not a just one way trip to winning, but a trip filled with unexpected events that make the entire journey much more memorable.

I would go into how unpredictable the evolution would get, and how interesting the list of achievements are – but that’s all for this time folks!
